BEEP BOOP
Public beta

Beep Boop. A step sequencer for iPhone and iPad.

Press play. A beat is already there.

A line drawing of the Beep Boop panel, made part by part at the app's own measurements: a step key, the voice dial, a silicone pad, the window, the whole panel on an iPhone, then the same parts on an iPad.
An exploded view of a touch: the glass, the panel, the engine and the speaker, drawn apart along the one line a touch travels.
    FIG. 8

    From finger to ear

A touch passes the glass, the panel, the engine and the speaker. It sounds at the next buffer.

Step key 5 pulled apart along the line a press travels: 1 the foot, 2 the body with its moulded ridge, 3 the lamp's lip, 4 its glass, 5 its light. The layers close into one key; a finger presses it, the body travels 1.5 points onto the foot and the lamp lights.
    DETAIL A

    Step key, apart

A foot, a body and a lamp. Pressed, it sounds at the next buffer: counted in samples, never timed.

    Preview

27.9 seconds on iPhone. Real touches, the engine's own sound.
    FIG. 10

    Press kit

The panel's parts, photographed from the app and set along one centre line: 1 the window, 2 the voice dial, 3 the step keys, 4 PLAY.
The parts, captured from the app at true size, then pulled apart along one line.
